Getting a groove of deschooling

Deschooling is a term that homeschoolers and unschoolers use to get the stress from the traditional school schedule out of you and your child's lives.   Typically NO work on education is done during this time other than accidental education.

You relax.  You de-stress.  You realize learning happens anywhere and everywhere.  You get to know your child better.  You get to know yourself better.  You eventually make plans.

I call this loosy goosy- or at least what we're doing is loosy goosy.   Eli is doing some learning games, making up his own games, writing whatever he wants, reading whatever he wants, playing other games.  While stressful for some, much more relaxing and very empowering for Eli.

On Saturday he made up a game with scrabble tiles that had spelling.

He might not be checking special boxes on lessons, but he's learning, growing and most importantly learning life can be fun.
Onward.
