New week and busy days!

Image
This week has been busy with my working and a bunch of appointments today- but we've been very busy and Eli's been learning on his own and happily!!!  Monday was a daddy day!  They had a dermatologist appointment and then did some hands on work with dad working on his door.  They also played on adventure academy and prodigy.  Tuesday was with Wawa (grandma).  Lots of fun learning with legos and computer programs.  Wednesday was another fun day with Wawa for Eli!  Math dominoes, card games, books, writing and computer again.   Thursday started with wanting to put a sign on his door- no girls, no coco (the dog) and no cat!  He wanted to show off his cool door!  We then went to the hospital for an occupational therapy evaluation.  Afterwards we came home and did some computer work with Adventure Academy, read a book, and played a phonics game on my phone.   Great day, relaxe...

Thursday and Friday

Full few days of running ALL over the place this long weekend! Thursday started as an earlier day than normal with his sister having an appointment to draw blood.  Eli isn't a morning person!   He didn't appreciate the morning wake up, but after we had that taken care of we headed to drop off his books at the UPS store and have some documents notarized so we can apply for his scholarship ASAP!  Then we headed to his eye doctor appointment.  In the car he played his prodigy math game- so at least 45 minutes worth of Math.  When we arrived at the office we spent time going through a first grade workbook we had at home with all sorts of first grade skills.  We purposely want to go over all the basics again as many of them he doesn't know.  However, we don't want to stop doing the advanced things either.  We're trying to keep a balance. From here, we headed to Disney World for the expo for the Princess Marathon Weekend Races.  Eli ...

China and Math Games!

Image
Today has been a busy busy day!  I think fun overall! Started with getting some blood drawn- that wasn't the highlight of the day!  He was okay until we were in the room.  Then the screaming and kicking started.  Luckily he has easy veins and it only took one poke and we were in and out pretty quickly! Then we decided since we've been enjoying learning about China we'd take a field trip to China!  Kind of.  We went to Epcot at Walt Disney World!   On the way there he said a funny thing while we were talking about our new school type of work.  When I said we need to get him reading some today too he said "No. Reading is not my thing".    It's going to be buddy!  You just won't know it! We started at Soaring Around the World.  We didn't plan ahead so we didn't have fast passes- but we did have a new Math gaming app called Prodigy Math!  We played games during the about 50 minute wait (the gate said 80- so they d...

Full Of Hands

Image
The phrase "Full of Hands" is one of many phrases my Differently Wired child has used.  We know what he means, but we have NO IDEA why he says it this way, and continues to despite corrections.  He's actually managed to train the rest of us to say it.    My 10 year old son, Eli, has multiple learning disabilities, ADHD, and a genetic deletion which likely (but no guarantee) is the underlying cause of it.   It's a long story that I've told extensively on my personal blog.  The main post can be found here:  Differently Wired Life    There was also an update as problems during this school year escalated in doing school the way we were:  Differently Wired Update . Long story short- for the last month and a half I have been researching my booty off.  Home school vs. private school options.  Gardiner scholarship requirements.  The nuances of everything.  And today it's official....we have withdrawn from Osce...
