Happy Boy doing Happy Work

So we're busy being busy- so I haven't updated! But we have pictures and have been doing lots of work between lots of busy times!

Friday Ella had an appointment, so Eli did some stuff with Wawa that includes writing from his book, building some machinery, playing learning games, and trying out some learning apps!



Over the weekend, Eli worked with his dad in the garage awhile, and also had a play date with a buddy.  

Monday we had to take the cat to the vet, and then did some computer school work.
We then had a doctor appointment to discuss sleep studies, neuro evaluations and referrals for speech and behavior therapies.  When we got home Eli wanted to spend his $20 he earned on a toy online.  He counted his money out, we discussed shipping and taxes, and we ordered his toy he picked.   

Tuesday (today) we decided to relax because we didn't have any appointments or my working which is a first for awhile.  So we went to the Magic Kingdom!

After riding a roller coaster, we were waiting in line for another ride and were doing math flashcards to pass the time.  We both are good at addition cards.  


Then, when we were in line for the Winnie the Pooh ride, we had the opportunity to read chapter 1 of the book (chapter 2 is the ride) and we found rhyming words too.  


We also did the Swiss Family Robinson tree house- we talked about maybe getting that book or movie to see.  

On the way home, Eli tried a few apps on my phone for some new learning games including a sight words that he excelled in.  

Tomorrow we have a little bit more structure planned, but we are both much happier with this plan and are happy to keep working on tweaking for us!

Full week done! Getting a routine

Week one done and pretty good!  No arguments against school work until Friday.  That's an amazing week in this differently wired house! Monday computer lessons was at grandma's house, but reading time happened at home.... Then we got creative with giant legos and balls on how to make a house with a ball pit! Tuesday and Wednesday computer and reading time, then some more creativity with legos buildings with only a minute to build them! Thursday just a normal school day...BUT I am SO SO proud of Eli for saying that 1st grade Language Arts is too easy for him!  He wants to move up to second grade level because it's too easy.  And it is.  I wanted to encourage Eli to work at where he thinks he's comfortable to start and his recognizing it's too easy and he can move on empowers him to be challenged and that it's a good thing.   Friday was a day of unschool learning shining through.  While exercising, we ended up talking about a friend with a blister o...

China and Math Games!

Today has been a busy busy day!  I think fun overall! Started with getting some blood drawn- that wasn't the highlight of the day!  He was okay until we were in the room.  Then the screaming and kicking started.  Luckily he has easy veins and it only took one poke and we were in and out pretty quickly! Then we decided since we've been enjoying learning about China we'd take a field trip to China!  Kind of.  We went to Epcot at Walt Disney World!   On the way there he said a funny thing while we were talking about our new school type of work.  When I said we need to get him reading some today too he said "No. Reading is not my thing".    It's going to be buddy!  You just won't know it! We started at Soaring Around the World.  We didn't plan ahead so we didn't have fast passes- but we did have a new Math gaming app called Prodigy Math!  We played games during the about 50 minute wait (the gate said 80- so they d...
